Additionally a weather station is equipped with a pyrradiometer and sensors for relative humidity and wind speed at 2 m, and air temperature sensors at 5 cm, 50 cm and 2 m.


The cylindrical stainless steel
monolithic lysimeter has a surface of
1 square meter and a monolith depth of 1 meter.
Due to the high resolution weighing system input water fractions are measured with a resolution of
0.01 mm, including dew, rime and small rates of evapotranspiration.

The soil temperature is measured in depths of 5 cm, 10 cm and 20 cm. The soil water content is measured at
10 cm.


Typical Applications

  • Measurement of ET, ETo and precipitation.
  • Measurement of soil water content and temperature in coherence with climatic data.

Advantages

  • This lysimeter design allows the determination of water balance and energy balance
  • Measurment of the soil water parameters and their interfaces to atmosphere and aquifer

Limitations

  • Snow needs to be cut along the gap before icing to maintain the weighing capability
  • Not for agri-cultivation applications
